The Match in brief
Al-Arabi club won the final match of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Cup, against arch rival Qadsiya in penalty shoot-out held at Al-Kuwait Football Stadium Tuesday. The match, which ended 0-0 in regular time, was less than average and also very boring and also full of defensive plans. It was very clear and obvious that both team managers were afraid to loose, in terms of performance from both major clubs, the match was extended into 30 minute extra time which also ended goalless and without any dangerous goal atpemts, but in the shoot-out Al-Arabi goalkeeper was able to block two critical shots taken by Qadsiya’s prominent players, Bader Al-Mutawa and Talal Al-Amer. The match ended 4-1 on penalties for Al Arabi. After today’s win, Al-Arabi are at par in the number of times they have won the cup with Qadsiya, each winning it six times in the past.
